Whether you are coming in to grab a bite to eat, to purchase concert tickets or merchandise, or to meet friends and fellow fans, the festival cafe has something for everyone. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The staff is always eager to help you and will take the time to answer any questions you may have. They are happy to suggest new items or give you recommendations based on your taste. They also offer a great selection of beverages, including beer, cider, wine and espresso.
The festival cafe was founded in 1984 by Patina Restaurants and is located at the lower plaza of Rock Center. It has 185 seats inside and a few more outside once the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink closes for the season. It is open on all Pavilion performance nights. In addition to the American Festival Cafe, Patina operates the Park View and Tree Top restaurants in the Dining Pavilion as well as several concession carts throughout the venue.
In addition to a wide variety of food and beverage options, the festival also hosts a range of unique activities for visitors. From live hip-hop music to a Hello Kitty Café stop, there is plenty to enjoy. This year’s event is scheduled for September 22-24. The festival is an independent, non-profit organization supported by the City of Detroit, the Kresge Foundation, DTE Energy, Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation, Arts Midwest, the D’Addario Foundation and other corporate and private donors.
The Festival has a number of ways to pay for your food and drink, including credit or debit cards, Ravinia Memberships, gift certificates or vouchers, and cash. For a complete list of options, please visit the Festival’s website. Ravinia is becoming a cashless venue and encourages guests to use their preferred method of payment for all purchases. Ravinia accepts credit or debit cards at The Festival Shop, Wintrust Chair & Table Rental and the Park View, Tree Top and Lawn Bar restaurants in the Dining Pavilion as well as at all concessions and bars on both indoor and outdoor venues on concert nights. The Festival also offers a free cash ATM in the Parking Pavilion. In addition, a limited amount of cash is available for purchase at the American Festival Cafe and concession carts. The Festival does not accept personal checks or cashiers’ checks.
